Chuka University’s journey began in 1951, when a renowned seer, Jerusha Kanyua, prophesied the rise of an “academic mountain” in Ndagani. The vision came to fruition in 2004 when Prof. Erastus Njoka chaired a committee to explore the establishment of a campus in the Mount Kenya region. Following extensive consultations, Egerton University opened Chuka University College in 2005, which eventually became Chuka University in 2007.
Chuka University has grown into a reputable institution, with a clear mandate to enhance access to quality, affordable education in Kenya and beyond. The University’s commitment to academic excellence is evident in its adoption of global standards like ISO 9001 Quality Management System, advanced infrastructure, cutting-edge facilities, and an ethos of research-driven education. With a welcoming and diverse student body, Chuka University offers equal opportunities for all students, nurturing future leaders and innovators.
Chuka University offers a wide range of academic programs designed to meet the dynamic needs of today’s workforce.
