Established in 1997 under interim authority and chartered in 2006, KeMU is renowned for producing Kenya’s first private university medical doctors and boasts a global alumni network of over 32,000. KeMU offers a wide range of programs including PhD, Masters, Degree, Diploma, and Certificate courses, emphasizing market-driven curriculum, industry partnerships, and practical learning experiences beyond the classroom. KeMU’s academic offerings span various faculties including the School of Science and Technology, School of Education and Social Sciences, KeMU Business School, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Center for Leadership and Professional Development. These faculties cater to a diverse student body seeking to excel in their chosen fields.
Sports and recreation are integral to KeMU’s holistic education approach, providing opportunities for student-athletes to develop physical fitness, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The university’s Sports and Games Department oversees a wide array of sports including soccer, netball, basketball, volleyball, rugby, handball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, karate, taekwondo, swimming, chess, scrabble, and hockey.
These activities not only enhance students’ athletic abilities but also contribute to the university’s reputation in local, national, and international competitions.
