The University of Kabianga is a public chartered institution committed to providing high-quality training, research, and extension services. With a rich history dating back to 1925, the university has evolved from its beginnings as a teachers’ training college and farmers’ training center to become a leading institution of higher learning.

The university offers a wide range of academic programmes across diploma, undergraduate, masters, and doctorate levels. Admission requirements vary for each programme, ensuring that students meet the necessary academic standards and prerequisites.
- Diploma Programmes: Minimum grade of C plain and above in KCSE.
- Undergraduate Programmes: Minimum requirement of Grade C+ in KCSE or its equivalent, or relevant diploma from a recognized institution.
- Masters Programmes: Eligibility criteria include a Bachelor’s degree with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or higher, or relevant postgraduate diploma.
- Doctorate Programmes: Applicants must hold a Masters degree from a recognized institution.
The Academic Division oversees the coordination and implementation of teaching, learning activities, library services, and student affairs. It provides leadership, guidance, and direction to departments within the division, ensuring the smooth operation of academic programmes.
Recognizing the importance of physical and mental fitness, our university promotes a culture of sports and games.
