Established in 1988, Mama Ngina Girls High School, initially a public boarding school, has a rich history of academic excellence. Despite its small campus in Kizingo, Mombasa, the school has been led by five dedicated principals. However, exciting developments are underway as the school relocates to a spacious 30-acre campus in Shanzu, North Coast, funded by a Ksh200 million government investment. This move promises a state-of-the-art learning environment, expected to be completed in early 2022.
Mama Ngina Girls has consistently earned a reputation for its strong academic performance. The school attributes this success to a combination of factors: excellent leadership, a dedicated teaching staff, and a supportive network of students, parents, and the Board of Management. This collaborative spirit fosters a positive learning environment where students can thrive.
While the current facilities are limited by space constraints, the future looks bright for Mama Ngina Girls. The new campus in Shanzu promises a significant upgrade, boasting ultra-modern sporting facilities including an Olympic-size swimming pool, standard pitches for various sports, and a running track.
Additionally, modern classrooms, administrative offices, and well-equipped laboratories will provide an exceptional learning environment.
Mama Ngina Girls prioritizes a well-rounded education, offering diverse extracurricular activities despite space constraints. Students excel in athletics, cross-country, drama, and music, achieving success in national competitions. The school supports student development through a vibrant club system, including the Wildlife Club, Red Cross, and academic clubs like Math and Science clubs. Religious societies like the Christian Union and Muslim Union provide avenues for students to explore their faith.
