Iganga Progressive SS was started as a privately owned school in 1991 by well qualified, competent and ambitious personnel with a wide experience in Education, and administration management.
At Iganga Progressive SS discipline is very important, the school has a multi-denominational background offering day and boarding facilities for O and A level. It is privately owned and registered with the Ministry of Education and sports No. PSS/1/13 and UNEB Centre No. U0812
Academics
The main objectives of the school are to promote morals and good values among the students. To establish a team of highly motivated staff for efficiency. To emphasize discipline of students by use of performance measures. To measure school enrollment through physical and non physical attraction. To emphasize staff apprasal in order to improve areas of weakness.
The School is staffed with well qualified and competent teachers who are headed by Mr. Baidha Isaac as principal of the school. It has a teaching staff of 45 teachers and non teaching staff of 17 members who all have professional attitude towards their respective work
