About

Curriculum: Uganda National Examinations Board Curriculum (UNEB)

Welcome to Victory School Uganda – a place of hope where children are loved, encouraged to learn, and dreams come alive! Located in the scenic area of Buhoma, Bwindi in western Uganda, our school offers a foundation for a brighter future to some of the community’s most vulnerable children. We are situated in a stunning environment, just a 7-minute drive from the gates of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda’s home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Victory School is more than just an institution; it is a transformative project dedicated to changing lives.

Victory School Uganda Academics

Victory School was founded in 2006 by Victor and Sylvia Bahati, who, having known poverty first-hand, sought a way to positively impact the children in their community. Their unwavering mission was, and remains, to provide an education to the most needy and vulnerable children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend school. Starting with just 33 children, funded by money saved from working at a local lodge, the school has since grown to serve approximately 300 children. The KamuKama Foundation, established in 2012, supports the mission of Victory School, working to positively impact the lives of children in Uganda by providing them with the necessary foundation for a hopeful future.

Victory School Uganda Co-curricular

Integrated into the daily schedule, Physical Education, Art, Drama, and Music provide creative outlets and opportunities for physical fitness, fostering teamwork, self-expression, and cultural appreciation. These activities complement our academic and life skills programs, helping children discover their talents while building resilience and joy. Whether through dramatic performances that spark imagination or artistic endeavors that celebrate local heritage, our co-curricular offerings create memorable experiences that reinforce the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, hopeful young minds.

Victory School Uganda History

In 2006, Victor and Sylvia Bahati, motivated by their firsthand encounters with poverty, launched Victory School to offer education and hope to the most needy children in their Buhoma community. Starting with just 33 students and modest funding from their lodge earnings, the school quickly became a vital resource. By 2012, the KamuKama Foundation was formed to amplify this mission, expanding support and reach. From humble origins, Victory School has grown to enroll 300 children, providing not only academics but also practical tools for health, nutrition, and self-sufficiency, proving that dedicated vision can illuminate paths out of hardship.

Vision for Tomorrow

Victory School Uganda envisions a future where every child in Buhoma and beyond escapes poverty through education and empowerment. We aim to sustain and expand our programs, ensuring access to quality learning and life skills that promote self-reliance and community leadership. By continuing to serve as a place of love and encouragement, we strive to keep dreams alive, preparing generations to thrive in harmony with their environment—near the majestic gorillas of Bwindi—and contribute to Uganda’s progress.
