Curriculum:

Jinja Progressive Academy ltd started in 2003 as a mixed day and boarding “A” and “O” level senior secondary school on Iganga Road plot 02 opposite the Jinja Municipal head quarters. It started with a small capital base but with a strong man power force.

The school transferred to the current Buganda University Jinja Branch located on plot 5 Elgon Avenue opposite Victoria primary school. At this location the school progressed both academically and in students numbers. The school remained at those premises for 2 years.

In 2006, the school acquired its current beautiful and specious home at Wanje road Mpumude Kimaka Division plot 8.

Academics

The school academically has achieved the objectives of its founder because it has continuously been the best in the region with highly performing candidates who are ranked at national level to be among the top best in the whole country.
The school still has continuously sent students in both public and private universities as well as colleges on both private and government sponsorship.

This alone has created confidence to the teachers, students, parents and top management of the school. It was upon this that the school was ranked 78 out of 2700 schools in the whole country by UNEB in 2011 UACE results.

Facilities

The School Library
The school is having a big, spacious, and effective library which was open in 2010. Currently, the school is having approximately 2500 update books for both A and O-Levels and which are recommended by the Uganda curriculum.

The school laboratories.
The school is having modern laboratories for all the science subjects for both ‘O’ and ‘A’ level. There is a Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture and physics laboratories. This a lone has made the study of sciences easy in the school and no wonder why students like APPOLO OJALA, KIMULI TMOTHY , and DIISI BENON excelled in sciences and were taken on government scholarship for various courses to various universities.

A laboratory attendant is also available which makes it possible for the candidates to do any practical at an time as stipulated by the time table.
The school land:
The school by the time it shifted to its own land at WANJE ROAD MPUMUDDE in 2006, it was on a small piece of land but it was sufficient for the buildings to accommodate the population by that time. Within a period of six years up-to-date, the school has acquired a bigger space within the area, the space is big enough to accommodate the population at school and even remains with free spaces. The size of the land is approximately 2.5 hectares.

The class rooms and halls

The school s having a bigger hall which can accommodate over 1600 students during any occasions and over 500 students during the UNEB examinations and its basically used by the S.6 candidates as their class room and for purpose of final examinations of UNEB.

Additionally, the school has a minor hall which acts as the class room of S.5 and for purposes of UNEB examinations of S.4 candidates.
On top of those two multipurpose halls, the school has numerous class room blocks.
