Curriculum:

Masaka Town College | MATCO is a community secondary school founded in 2000 to provide quality secondary education in an educationally underserved community of Katwe – Butego division in Masaka Municipality. Masaka Town College (MATCO) believes in a balanced body, mind and soul and more so emphasize academics and sports and develop them simultaneously.

Curriculum: Masaka Town College follows the curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education & Sports which is divided into two – i.e. science and arts courses / subjects which include; Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Computer Science; English, French, Kiswahili, Economics, History, Geography, Religious studies, Political Education, Literature, Commerce, etc. The school also engages students in extracurricular activities.

[related_posts]History: The idea to establish Masaka Town College was hatched by graduates from Makerere University namely; Lawyer Magellan Kazibwe, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, Eng. Francis Sseremba, and Richard Ssenyondo to provide opportunity to orphans and unprivileged (but brilliant) children to access quality secondary education at free and / or small fee cost in the area. Currently, the school enrolls and provides quality secondary education with boarding and lodging facilities free of cost to 240 orphan children (especially girl orphans), and at a small fee to 400 financially well off children from within and outside the community.

Extracellular: Girls and boys football, netball, volley ball, basket ball, tennis, track and field events as well as indoor games such as scrabble, chess, ludo, monopoly, board games, computer games etc.

Facilities: Masaka Town College has very well planned spacious separated girls’ and boys’ dormitories; secured with fire extinguishers and smoke detectors, protected from intrusions and external attacks by 24-hours security surveillance. Masaka Town College School also has a clinic with a full time nurse and a visiting doctor who ensure that the health of their students is guaranteed. Other facilities include well furnished classrooms, play grounds and accommodation facilities.
