Founded in 1959 in Old Kampala, Aga Khan High School has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence and inclusivity. As the first multicultural school in Uganda, it continues to provide a unique and diverse learning environment. The school maintains high teaching standards and a strong commitment to character development, preparing students to become responsible global citizens.
Aga Khan High School offers both local and international curricula to cater to diverse student needs. Students can pursue the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE/O-Level) and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE/A-Level) or opt for international qualifications such as the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Regardless of the chosen academic path, the school ensures that its vision, teaching quality, and professional practices are upheld across both streams, providing flexibility and choice for students and parents.
The school offers a variety of co-curricular activities that enhance students’ personal growth and leadership skills. Events such as the annual school play or musical, Cultural Day, Careers Day, and Balloon Debate encourage creativity and public speaking. Students also benefit from work placements, counseling sessions, and enrichment programs such as Cyberschool software training and the Educate! Program. The school celebrates milestones with the Leavers’ Dance and a formal graduation ceremony.
Aga Khan High School is well-equipped with modern facilities to support both academic and extracurricular activities. These include state-of-the-art classrooms, science and computer labs, a library, and spaces dedicated to performing arts. The school’s commitment to providing a comprehensive education is reflected in its investment in resources that foster learning, innovation, and student engagement.
