Trinity Children’s Center | Kabowa Academics

Trinity Children’s Centre, Kabowa was founded with the following aims: To bring or take education facilities nearer to the people. To lay a firm foundation for successful future studies of pupils. To pay special attention to the moral, physiological and psychological requirements of the children at this important stage of development. The establishment of sound academic standard. The development of a good moral fabric.

We have four campuses and these are:

• Trinity primary school in Sembule Zone
• Trinity Kindergarten in Kironde Zone
• Trinity Nursery academy
• Faith Nursery Academy in Kitebi Zone

Trinity Children’s Center | Kabowa Co-curricular

Trinity Children’s Center fosters holistic development through a variety of co-curricular programs that complement the academic curriculum. Students engage in music and arts activities that encourage creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation. Physical education and sports promote fitness, coordination, teamwork, and healthy competition, while community service and life skills programs teach empathy, social responsibility, and practical skills.

Additionally, nature exploration and outdoor activities provide experiential learning opportunities through interaction with the school’s outdoor environments. Together, these activities ensure that students develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically in a well-rounded and supportive environment.

Trinity Children’s Center | Kabowa Facilities

Many orphans have been given free education. When the center first opened, there were few orphans and we felt we could accommodate them without them paying school fees. But when AIDS struck and it is still striking as very hard.

We are losing parents at a rate of 5 parents per year and on average each of them has 2 to 4 children in our school – this means only in one year between 10 to 20 children became orphans in our school. It is, therefore, not surprising that presently we have more than 200 orphans in the center. The ever increasing number of orphans who do not pay school fees has strains our financial arrangements since we don’t get any grants from government.

Trinity Children’s Center | Kabowa History

Trinity Children’s Center | Kabowa was established in 1986 by Mrs. Sarah Serunjogi, a teacher with a vision to make education accessible to children in slum areas of Kampala who were excluded from formal schooling due to high fees or difficult living conditions. Starting with just six pupils, the school has grown to serve a diverse student population, including more than 200 orphans.

The center has expanded to four campuses: Trinity Primary School (Sembule Zone), Trinity Kindergarten (Kironde Zone), Trinity Nursery Academy, and Faith Nursery Academy (Kitebi Zone). Over the years, the center has remained committed to providing affordable education and creating opportunities for children who otherwise would have limited access to learning.
