Kyabirwa Children’s Centre is a second pre-school built and started by Soft Power Education. Kyabirwa Children’s Centre, or KCC as they call it, was built soon after the official opening of Buwenda Pre-School – which took place in March 2003.

Kyabirwa Children’s Centre (KCC) is the second pre-school established by Soft Power Education (SPE), a British charity and Ugandan NGO dedicated to promoting education in Uganda. Following the success of Buwenda Pre-School, KCC was built after the community of Kyabirwa gifted the land to SPE.
The decision to build a pre-school was made after deliberation between those who wanted a mosque and those who desired a school. As a non-religious charity, SPE supported the community’s decision, and KCC was constructed to provide much-needed educational opportunities.
Kyabirwa Children’s Centre follows a comprehensive curriculum that includes a variety of subjects designed to foster creativity and foundational learning:
-
Art and Music
-
Storytelling
The curriculum is tailored to meet the educational needs of children aged 4-5 years, providing them with a well-rounded education. The focus on these subjects helps children develop both academically and emotionally, encouraging creative expression and communication.
At Kyabirwa Children’s Centre, we believe in nurturing the whole child. Our pre-school pupils engage in a variety of co-curricular activities such as:
-
Singing
-
Writing
-
Playing
-
Storytelling
-
Painting
These activities help build social, emotional, and cognitive skills, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
