Muvule Academy

Muvule Academy began as a kindergarten in Entebbe, Uganda, and has since evolved into a comprehensive educational institution. The school’s philosophy focuses on creating a learning environment where children’s needs, interests, and developmental stages guide their education, rather than simply their age.

The academy fosters a sense of integrity, responsibility, and community involvement among its students, and the school is now known as Muvule Academy Kindergarten and Junior School, reflecting its growth into a junior school in 2020. The academy is committed to delivering personalized and rigorous education while nurturing the social, emotional, and academic development of each child.

Muvule Academy offers a well-rounded early childhood education curriculum that supports holistic development. The curriculum is designed to nurture young learners’ academic, social, and personal growth through interactive and engaging methods.

• Little Stems (2 – 3 years): Children engage in structured routines like “Circle Time” and are encouraged to foster independence through “Free Flow Time.” The focus is on language development, motor skills, and foundational practical life skills.

• Buds (3 – 4 years): The Buds program emphasizes core pre-academic skills such as literacy, math, and science, while promoting creativity, problem-solving, and social collaboration. The curriculum ensures a joyful and meaningful learning experience.

• Flowers (4 – 5 years): This program prepares children for formal schooling by developing their literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills. A blend of inquiry-based learning, child-choice, and small group activities helps children transition smoothly to higher academic levels.

Muvule Academy offers a range of extracurricular activities that complement its academic programs, helping students explore their interests and develop new skills. Some of the key extracurricular offerings include:

• Music Exploration: Part of the curriculum, allowing children to experiment with sounds and movement to express emotions and ideas.

• Arts and Crafts: Encouraging creativity through activities like jewelry making, crafts, and art.

• Physical Education: Focuses on developing motor skills, fitness, and teamwork, with activities such as running, jumping, skipping, and ball games.

• Water Confidence/Swimming: Enhances children’s physical fitness and water safety skills, promoting overall health.

• Clubs: The school offers a variety of clubs each term, including cooking, French, African dance, sports exploration, and more. These clubs provide hands-on learning experiences and allow children to discover and nurture their personal interests and talents.
