The Hungry Caterpillar School is founded on the belief that education is not only about academic achievement but also about shaping character and instilling lifelong values. With a rich history of innovation and excellence, the school emphasizes an activity-based learning process where every concept is explored through hands-on experiences, observation, and logic.

At the core of our philosophy is the practice of “Know the Child,” ensuring individual progress is carefully monitored and recorded. Guided by the warm and visionary leadership of “Aunty B,” whose 18 years of experience have helped transform the school into a dream learning environment, we nurture the happiness, confidence, and self-motivation of every student.

Our academic programs are designed to be both curriculum-based and results-oriented, focusing on what each child will become through a comprehensive learning process. In the Pre-primary Section, children aged 3-6 years follow The Learning Framework for Early Childhood Development—a product of Uganda’s National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC). This outcome- and competence-based framework emphasizes:

• Knowledge and Understanding of the World

• Physical and Creative Development

• Personal, Social, and Emotional Development

The program is structured around measurable skills and values, incorporating IT experiences such as computer games and creative activities. Operating from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, it lays a strong foundation for life skills.

In the Primary Section, for students aged 6-12 years (P1 to P7), our project-based curriculum integrates modern approaches with the Ugandan national curriculum (UNEB). This method promotes cognitive, social, emotional, cultural, and physical development, while also emphasizing good grooming, eloquent expression, logic, and reasoning. Regular evaluations ensure that every pupil meets challenging targets and is well-prepared for future academic endeavors.
