Management Accountancy Training Company is an initiative by qualified accountants to extend quality accountancy and management education to students in Uganda and beyond.

History: Management and Accountancy Training Company (“MAT”) was established in 1999 to provide higher education to students in Uganda and the rest of Africa. It operates from a custom equipped training centre with modern teaching facilities, utilizing over 10,000 square feet of classroom space in Second Street, near Kampala city centre. Since its inception Management and Accountancy Training Company has developed highly successful professional accountancy training programmes – many MAT students have passed their ACCA and ICPAU final examinations and qualified as professional accountants, including over 303 grandaunts last year.

The training experience of the company is derived from the management team who has been actively involved in education and training in the UK and South East Asia. Apart from the experienced team of overseas lecturers, the company has recruited a local team of professionals who have provided training in the country and has experience of the local market requirements. Our lecturers follow a continuous professional development programme to keep them up to date in their teaching techniques and technical contents.

Partnership: Management and Accountancy Training Company is an Approved Learning Partner of the Heriot-Watt University for their MBA programme with more than 350 students this semester. This MBA programme has 8,500 MBA graduates to date, and over 8,000 active students in 144 countries. It was listed second largest in the Financial Times survey ‘20 of the top distance learning MBAs’ in March 2003. Management and Accountancy Training Company is committed to quality and holds, evidenced by the high levels of accreditations it holds from qualification providers. For example Management and Accountancy Training Company is the only Approved ACCA Tuition Provider in Uganda and is one of only five Approved Learning Partners “ALP’s” at the Platinum level in Africa.
