Mulago School of Nursing and Midwifery History

Mulago School of Nursing and Midwifery is a public training institution fully owned and managed by the Ugandan Government under the Ministry of Education and Sports. Founded in 1955 during the British colonial period, the school was established to address the growing need for trained health workers in Uganda and to promote preventive, rehabilitative, and curative care across communities.
