Curriculum: Uganda National Examinations Board Curriculum (UNEB)

The Aga Khan University (AKU) is a world-class institution dedicated to improving the quality of life in the developing world and beyond through outstanding teaching, research, and healthcare delivery. Founded in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, AKU is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

Over the years, the University has expanded its reach to East Africa, Afghanistan, and the United Kingdom, becoming an international model of excellence in education and social impact. In Uganda, AKU is recognized as a transformative institution that nurtures skilled professionals, promotes pluralism, and empowers communities to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Aga Khan University Academics

Aga Khan University in Uganda is primarily focused on building capacity in the healthcare sector, particularly in nursing and midwifery education. The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers a range of programmes, including the Post-RN Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Post-RM Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, the Bachelor of Nursing Science (Direct Entry), and the Diploma in General Nursing (Extension).

The University also provides Continuing Professional Development opportunities to help working professionals upgrade their skills.
