BSU offers a wide range of academic programs including PhDs, Master’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas, Bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, and certificate courses. The university comprises five faculties: Faculty of Business, Economics, and Governance; Faculty of Agriculture, Environmental Sciences and Technology; Faculty of Health Sciences; Faculty of Education, Arts and Media Studies; and Faculty of Law. Each faculty houses multiple departments covering disciplines such as social work, business, public administration, agriculture, computing, nursing, languages, media studies, and law. All programs are accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and are designed to equip students with critical thinking, leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional skills tailored to address real-world challenges.

BSU emphasizes holistic student development beyond academics. Students are encouraged to participate in cultural, social, and professional activities that enhance leadership, innovation, and community engagement. BSU’s main campus at Kakoba Hill is well-equipped to support academic and co-curricular activities. The university provides modern lecture halls, laboratories, libraries, and research centers. Specialized facilities include health science labs, computing and IT labs, agricultural research plots, and media studios. While BSU integrates both in-person and distance learning programs, it also offers spaces for extracurricular activities, sports, and student organizations. Administrative offices, faculty offices, and meeting spaces are designed to support efficient academic delivery, research, and student services.
