Kyambogo University boasts a wide range of faculties, schools, and institutes that deliver diverse academic programs. The institution currently has six faculties—Arts and Social Sciences, Education, Engineering, Science, Special Needs & Rehabilitation, and Vocational Studies—along with specialized schools such as the School of Management & Entrepreneurship, the School of Computing and Information Science, and the School of Built Environment.

Students can pursue programs in fields such as teacher education, agriculture, social sciences, business, engineering, arts, vocational training, and special needs education. The Directorate of Research and Graduate Training oversees advanced studies, fostering innovation, graduate research, and professional development. With more than 20 academic units, KYU provides opportunities for undergraduate, diploma, certificate, and postgraduate studies.

Beyond academics, Kyambogo University places strong emphasis on co-curricular activities that support students’ holistic growth. Sports and recreation form an integral part of student life, with facilities for athletics, football, rugby, basketball, tennis, netball, cricket, and other disciplines. The university regularly participates in inter-university competitions, nurturing talent and promoting teamwork, discipline, and leadership among students. Cultural activities, drama, debates, and student organizations also provide platforms for creativity, social interaction, and leadership development. Through these activities, KYU helps learners gain valuable life skills while building school spirit and community engagement.

Kyambogo University provides students with modern facilities that support both academic and social life. The university has four main libraries—Barclays Library, Technology Library, Education Library, and the North End Library—along with various departmental resource centers. Computer laboratories and graduate study spaces are available to support digital learning and research.

Health services are offered through the University Health Centre, which provides curative and preventive care, complemented by an ambulance for emergencies. For accommodation, KYU has five halls of residence for government-sponsored students and affiliated hostels for private students. The campus also offers dining facilities, with meal cards available to students. In terms of sports and recreation, KYU is well-equipped with multiple sports fields and courts, making it one of the most vibrant universities in Uganda for physical and social activities.
