Salaama Vocational Education Center Academics

SVEC offers National Certificate programs in a variety of vocational disciplines, including Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Bricklaying and Concrete Practice, Carpentry and Joinery, and Tailoring and Garment Cutting. In addition to vocational training, all students take Foundation Studies to develop essential academic and life skills. The center emphasizes a hands-on, practical learning approach, combining classroom instruction with collaborative projects, community engagement, and real-world vocational practice to foster problem-solving, responsibility, and teamwork.

SVEC encourages a balanced lifestyle through a variety of extra-curricular activities that develop students’ physical, social, and leadership skills. Sports such as football, netball, volleyball, basketball, and badminton are offered, with participation at both regional and national levels.

Students also have opportunities to join clubs that promote creativity, social responsibility, and leadership, including the Act of Kindness Club, Dance and Drum Club, IT Club, Media Club, Patriotism Club, Red Cross Club, Scripture Union, SVEC Sisterhood, and Zambogo Baganda Club. These initiatives foster community engagement, teamwork, and character development, bringing the school’s motto to life.

Production contracts and farm projects provide students with real-world experience in business management and small-scale production, ensuring that graduates leave with practical competencies and industry-ready skills.
