Algebright Institute of Electronic Technology & Management, established in 1999, is a premier ICT training center located in Eastern Uganda. Founded to expand access to affordable information and communication technology services, the institute plays a vital role in equipping students with practical digital skills. It operates as a private technical institute fully registered and licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES Registration No. ME/22/3389 and PTI/A/16), ensuring its programs meet national educational standards.
The institute specializes in ICT and management training, offering courses designed to equip students with the skills required for the rapidly evolving technology sector. The curriculum emphasizes practical, hands-on learning in information and communication technology, electronics, and management, preparing graduates for careers in both the private and public sectors. Students benefit from structured programs that align with industry standards, supported by national certification and recognized technical qualifications.
Algebright Institute encourages students to apply their skills in practical projects, fostering innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking. Learners participate in workshops, competitions, and community-based ICT initiatives, enhancing their technical proficiency and leadership abilities while preparing them to meet real-world challenges in technology and management.
Algebright Institute is equipped with modern ICT and electronics training laboratories, computer classrooms, and management learning spaces designed for practical skill development. Each center provides students with access to up-to-date technology, enabling hands-on experience in electronics, computer applications, and communication systems. The institute’s strategic locations ensure students have a safe and conducive environment for learning, along with easy access to community resources.
Currently, Algebright Institute operates as a dynamic and well-supported technical training center in Eastern Uganda. The institute is funded by the German Development Cooperation (KfW) under the IP-BTVET program, as well as by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) through the Rural Communication Development Fund (RCDF).
With two operational training centers—one in Soroti Municipality opposite the sports ground along Central Avenue Plot 24A/B, and the other in Katakwi Town Council next to the police station—the institute continues to provide accessible, high-quality ICT education to students across the region.
