Alliance Française Kampala is Uganda’s first French language institution, offering a wide range of French courses designed for all ages and levels. The programs follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring international recognition and progression.
Beginners start at A1, advancing through A2 (elementary), B1 (intermediate), and B2 (upper intermediate), where students can gain fluency in conversation and cultural understanding. For advanced learners, C1 (proficient) and C2 (superior) courses allow mastery of the French language at near-native levels. Classes are designed to be interactive, engaging, and tailored to different learning goals, whether for academic pursuits, career advancement, or personal enrichment.

Beyond academics, AFK is a vibrant cultural hub that promotes arts, literature, film, music, and intellectual exchange. It provides a unique platform for Ugandan and international artists to showcase their talents through exhibitions, concerts, poetry readings, and film screenings.
With its newly established concert space and Café Déjà Brew, opened in 2021, AFK offers a welcoming environment where students and community members can engage with French culture in meaningful ways. It also maintains strong collaborations with other Alliances Françaises in Nairobi, Mombasa, Addis Ababa, and Dar es Salaam, enriching the cultural experiences offered to its members.
