The Bachelor of Arts in Social and Philosophical Studies program is structured to provide rigorous academic training that equips graduates with critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills. Students are trained to think, speak, and write with clarity, precision, and depth while also developing competence in areas such as Natural Philosophy, management, and religious studies. The program enhances appreciation of religions and values, enabling graduates to engage with diverse perspectives in society.
Admission into the program is open through direct entry, diploma entry, and mature age entry. Direct entry requires an “O” Level Certificate with at least two Advanced Level principal passes in Arts or Sciences. Diploma entry is open to applicants with a Second-Class Diploma in any discipline, while mature applicants may gain admission through successful completion of Makerere University’s mature age examinations.

In addition to academics, Alokolum Major Seminary emphasizes holistic formation by integrating intellectual, spiritual, and human development. Students participate in pastoral outreach, community service, and chaplaincy training, experiences that help them grow in discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
These co-curricular activities complement the academic program and prepare students for service in schools, parishes, and the wider society.
