CCF is dedicated to transforming our community through access to quality education and literacy initiatives. We operate a Nursery School, a Primary School, and a Community Library, all driven by the commitment of local change-makers. Our mission is to provide an accessible and nurturing learning environment for all children in Bududa, especially those who are orphans or come from impoverished backgrounds.
The Christian Community Foundation’s nursery and primary schools deliver a robust curriculum up to Primary 7, designed to meet national educational standards in Uganda. The primary school, serving 113 pupils across seven classes, and the nursery school, with 60 children in two groups, focus on foundational learning tailored to young learners’ needs. By offering free education to orphans and children from impoverished backgrounds, CCF ensures equitable access to quality schooling. The curriculum emphasizes core subjects to prepare students for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and future academic pursuits. Supported by dedicated teachers and a community-focused approach, CCF’s academic programs aim to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and self-reliance.
CCF places a strong emphasis on co-curricular activities to promote literacy and intellectual engagement. The cornerstone of these efforts is the Library Hour, a daily program with one to two one-hour slots where pupils, primarily from the CCF primary school, participate in reading, storytelling, and reading competitions. For Primary 6 and 7 students, Library Hour also includes essay writing competitions, fostering critical thinking and creative expression. These activities cultivate a love for reading and enhance academic performance, creating an interactive and supportive environment that encourages students to explore knowledge beyond the classroom.
Located within the compound of Director John Mark Walimbwa, CCF’s facilities create a supportive learning environment on the scenic slopes of Mt. Elgon. The nursery and primary schools are equipped with classrooms tailored for young learners, accommodating 113 primary and 60 nursery students. The library, established in 2006, is a key asset, stocked with primary school textbooks—some donated from the United States and others on loan from nearby schools. It serves as a hub for the daily Library Hour, fostering reading and academic engagement. These facilities, though modest, are designed to maximize educational impact, providing a safe and inspiring space for children to learn and grow.
CCF was established by a dedicated group of ten locals, predominantly women, who recognized the urgent need for educational opportunities in the area. Our journey began in 1996 with the establishment of a Nursery School. Driven by the community’s demand for high-quality education, we expanded our offerings, building the Primary School in 2001. Since then, we have gradually grown to offer a complete Primary education up to Primary 7. The Nursery School and Library are situated within the compound of our director, John Mark Walimbwa, who also personally erected the library building in 2006. CCF remains rooted in local leadership and community upliftment.

The most important day of a person’s education is the first day of school, not Graduation Day.— Harry Wong
