We offer free education, transforming lives by instilling hope and a fresh perspective on the future. Our nurturing environment encourages children to think independently, embrace creativity, and look beyond their immediate surroundings in an ever-changing world. With a commitment to holistic development, we provide uniforms, shoes, socks, scholastic materials, and nutritious meals—breakfast, lunch, and supper for those in need—ensuring a supportive learning atmosphere. Through conduct guidance and counseling programs, with a special emphasis on HIV/AIDS awareness due to its prevalence in the community, we empower students to become exemplary members of society, ready to thrive and contribute positively.
Banunule Primary School follows the Ugandan National Curriculum, emphasizing thematic learning across all classes to foster critical thinking and creativity. Subjects are taught in English and include Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, Religious Education, Art, Music, and Physical Education. With small class sizes of 25 students per class, our dedicated teachers offer personalized attention, ensuring every child excels. Regular evaluations assess academic progress, social behavior, and co-curricular involvement, culminating in detailed termly reports shared with guardians. Our school day runs from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, balancing rigorous instruction with opportunities for growth, preparing students for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and a confident future.
At Banunule, co-curricular activities nurture talents and build well-rounded individuals, extending learning beyond the classroom. After school, students participate in rugby training, chess, Bible study, family initiatives, art lessons, homework sessions, video clubs, reading and writing clubs, volleyball, netball, Scouting, and football. These programs boost creativity, teamwork, and physical fitness while reinforcing moral values through religious and community-focused engagements. By encouraging participation, we help children discover their strengths, develop social skills, and gain the confidence to excel, ensuring they emerge as creative, resilient leaders equipped for life’s challenges.
Banunule Primary School features modest yet effective facilities tailored to our students’ needs. Our classrooms, limited to 25 students each, promote focused learning and teacher accessibility. We offer a safe, secure environment with dedicated spaces for meals—breakfast, lunch, and supper—to support health and concentration. The campus includes areas for co-curricular activities like sports fields for rugby, football, volleyball, and netball, and rooms for art, music, drama, and clubs such as chess, Bible study, and reading. With transport services and counseling rooms, we ensure a supportive, inclusive setting where every child feels valued and empowered to learn.
Banunule Primary School was established to address the educational needs of orphaned and underprivileged children in Kampala’s underserved suburbs. We aim to strengthen community partnerships, introduce advanced resources, and continue providing free, holistic education that equips students with the tools to thrive.
