It was opened in the same year with Kalinabiri SS, Luzira SS, Kitebi SS, and Kawempe Moslem SS as a result of government efforts to promote Secondary Education in Uganda.
In 1993, St. Denis was blessed when the church gave the school its current site (seven acres of land), a great achievement which the school is proud of and for which it is admired by other schools around.
The School is blessed to be among the few schools in the district and Uganda at large to have a Basket ball Coat thanks to our Friends from Germany especially Miss Inge Schlier who financed the construction of the sports complex in the beginning of 2013. A teacher (Mr. Kruger) from GBG Dusseldorf our sister school from Germany and Two students Kim and Weil not only supervised the construction of the coat but manually used hoes and spades together with students from st. Denis to do some of the work.
O’ Level Subjects: English, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Home economics, Geography, History, Commerce, C.R.E./I.R.e, Luganda, Principles of Accounts, Political Education, Fine art, Music, Computer, Germany, Technical drawing/woodwork.
A’ Level Subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Divinity, Literature/Luganda/French, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Food and Nutrition, Fine Art.
Library: With the newly constructed Block that also houses the school library, St. Denis has one of the best Libraries in the whole of Uganda. This provides a good environment for learning so the expectations are really high that it will lead to a significant change in performance of students if well utelised.
Dormitory: Currently the school has only boarding facilities for Girls only, the boarding section for boys was closed to give more room for classrooms. There is need therefore to construct new boarding facilities to cater for the boys.
Science Lab: The school has one Science Lab that caters for all the Science subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agriculture. Therefore is need for improvement in this area with a call for bigger lab with different sections for each subject.
Classrooms: The school has many classrooms but they are still not enough due to the large number of students, however with the newly elected classroom block financed by the world bank there seems to light at the end of the tunnel.
Computer Lab: St. Denis is blessed with two well stocked Computer labs making it a center for ICT excellence for both the students and the community around the school.
The computers were donated to the school through the ministry of Education and the UCC
I liked the school but I don’t know whether my cousin sister is still there
