P.C. Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, established in 1979, began as a Technical Secondary School with a student population of 160. The institute was founded in honor of the vision of Kenya’s first president, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, and is located on land donated by local elders in 1958, reserved for educational development in the name of Paramount Chief Kinyanjui wa Gathirimu, who led between 1893 and 1929.
Initially offering artisan and craft certificate courses to standard eight and form four leavers from the 8-4-4 education system, the institute has since evolved into a leading technical training center, providing a broad range of diploma and certificate courses.
