Now through many different schemes such as the village savings and loan scheme and the women’s empowerment initiative we have brought some employment to the village with new projects such as the bakery project when previously they had never seen an oven, the craft project showing them brand new skills and the pineapple and upland rice projects.
Kitale School is committed to delivering quality education that equips orphaned children with knowledge and skills for lifelong learning. The curriculum focuses on essential subjects while emphasizing practical life skills that prepare students for the challenges of adulthood. By integrating education with real-world applications, students gain a strong academic foundation while learning problem-solving, entrepreneurship, and teamwork skills.
The school emphasizes holistic development through a variety of co-curricular activities that nurture creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. Students engage in projects such as the bakery and craft initiatives, as well as agricultural projects including pineapple and upland rice farming. These programs enhance practical skills, foster teamwork, and build self-confidence, preparing students to become proactive members of society.
Kitale School provides facilities designed to support both learning and personal development. Classrooms are structured to foster interactive learning, while project-based areas such as bakeries, craft workshops, and gardens offer hands-on experience. Outdoor spaces are available for recreation and physical activities, and the school maintains a safe and supportive environment, ensuring that students can learn and grow in comfort, security, and inspiration.
Kitale School was established with a vision to provide education and care for orphaned children in the community. The school currently educates and provides healthcare to around 350 orphaned children. Beyond academics, the founders recognized the importance of equipping children with life skills and opportunities for self-sufficiency. Over time, the school has implemented various initiatives, including village savings and loan schemes, women’s empowerment programs, and community-based projects such as bakery, craft, pineapple, and upland rice farming, aimed at providing employment opportunities and practical skills to both students and the surrounding community.
