Greenhill Academy is a private, Christian-founded school established in February 1994 with an initial enrollment of 35 students. Today, the school has grown to over 2,500 students across nursery, primary, and secondary sections, with more than 500 students in the secondary school alone. The academy welcomes students of all nationalities, races, religions, and backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and diverse learning community.

Our mission is to provide high-quality education that transforms the Greenhill community and beyond, while its vision is to nurture exemplary individuals who contribute effectively to society. Greenhill Academy Academics

Greenhill Academy follows the National Curriculum Development Center (NCDC) thematic curriculum for nursery, focusing on early literacy, numeracy, life skills, and higher-order thinking. The primary section follows the English curriculum and offers a wide range of subjects, including Literacy, Mathematics, Social Studies, Physical Education, French, Music, and Art. Class sizes are capped at 45 students to ensure individualized attention.

The secondary curriculum is broad and diverse, offering vocational subjects such as Commerce, Economics, and Music; science subjects including Mathematics, Physics, and Biology; language courses like English, Literature, Swahili, and French; and arts & humanities subjects such as Geography and History. Students undergo regular assessments, and annual study trips enhance learning through real-life experiences. Greenhill Academy is a UNEB examination center (U0794).

Greenhill Academy Co-curricular

Greenhill Academy emphasizes holistic development through various co-curricular activities. Music and drama practices are conducted on Saturdays, while swimming is compulsory for all students from Pre-Primary to Secondary School. Swimming galas are held annually, with participants selected from six school houses: Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, and Blue. These activities aim to cultivate discipline, teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence in students.

Greenhill Academy Facilities

Greenhill Academy provides extensive facilities to support learning and personal development. The school has a well-stocked library that offers books in multiple categories to encourage reading and research. Three computer laboratories, located in the secondary school, primary school, and Buwaate Campus, allow up to sixty students to access digital learning simultaneously.

A large swimming pool is available for swimming lessons and competitions, while ample parking and security are provided for parents and visitors. The boarding facilities include quality beds, lockers, underground water tanks, and power backup, ensuring a comfortable and secure living environment for boarding students.

Greenhill Academy History

Greenhill Academy was founded in 1994 with just 35 students. Over the years, it has expanded significantly to serve over 2,500 students across nursery, primary, and secondary levels. Boarding facilities were added in 2007 on an adjacent 6-acre site. The school now occupies a total of 13 acres, including a two-story secondary building and multiple primary and nursery buildings, providing a comprehensive learning environment for students.
