About

Curriculum:

Soft Power Education (SPE) Pre-Schools in Uganda provide free access to early childhood education for vulnerable children, especially those who have lost one or both parents to AIDS or come from impoverished backgrounds. Located near Bujagali Falls in Jinja, these pre-schools offer a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can begin their educational journey. SPE focuses on building confidence, creativity, and a love for learning through structured play and foundational academics. The pre-schools serve as a vital bridge for young learners, preparing them for successful entry into primary education.

Classes run Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., providing structured yet enjoyable learning experiences for children aged 4 to 5 years.

Beyond classroom learning, children at SPE Pre-Schools participate in engaging co-curricular activities such as singing, painting, storytelling, play-based learning, and writing. These activities nurture creativity, teamwork, and communication while boosting confidence and social interaction. Soft Power Education Pre-Schools History

Soft Power Education (SPE) is a British charity and Ugandan NGO dedicated to improving access to quality education in Uganda. Established in 1999 by Hannah Small, SPE works hand in hand with local communities to support children, teachers, and parents in creating enriching learning environments. The organization began by building and refurbishing schools and soon established two pre-schools—Buwenda and Kyabirwa—to support orphans and disadvantaged children. Through collaboration, compassion, and community empowerment, SPE continues to make a lasting impact on education and child development in Uganda.
