Hormisdallen Schools is a privately owned, mixed day and boarding institution offering Nursery and Primary education across three branches: Kamwokya (off Mawanda Road), Kyebando (off Erisa Road), and Gayaza (off Bugema Road). Each branch is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports and has an examination center approved by UNEB.
The schools embrace a child-centered philosophy that promotes creative thinking, lifelong learning, and academic excellence. Educators work in partnership with parents to inspire students to achieve their full potential across all areas of development. The school operates under the motto: “Education has no money value.”
Hormisdallen Schools follow a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop students’ academic and practical skills. Core subjects include English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Writing, Reading, Swahili, Luganda, Art and Craft, and Computer Studies.
The curriculum emphasizes a child-centered approach, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Admission requirements include a birth certificate, passport photographs for the child and parent, an immunization card for Nursery to Primary Two, and recent report recommendations for Primary Three to Primary Six.
Hormisdallen Schools offer a wide range of co-curricular activities to foster holistic development. Games and sports such as Ludo, Chess, Table Tennis, Bicycle Racing, Volleyball, Netball, Swimming, and Football help students develop physical fitness and teamwork.
Music, dance, and drama programs, including the school choir, provide opportunities for artistic expression at house, local, national, and international levels. Other clubs and activities include Scouts and Girl Guides, Debating Club, Youth Alive Club, and Environment Club, all of which cultivate leadership, communication skills, social responsibility, and environmental awareness among students.
The schools are equipped with modern facilities to support learning and development. Libraries at each branch are stocked with books categorized by subject, including Science, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, storybooks, and newspapers. Classrooms and play areas are designed to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
Hormisdallen School was founded on 12th February 1986 by Mr. Mukalazi Kizito, starting with just nine pupils and three teachers. The founder’s vision was to help the community access quality education that meets the evolving challenges of society. Over the years, the school has expanded to three branches, continually building a reputation for academic excellence and holistic development.
