Uganda Catholic Management and Training Institute (UCMTI), formerly Uganda Catholic Social Training Center, was established in 1969 by the Uganda Episcopal Conference as the National Social Training Institute. Blessed by Pope Paul VI, UCMTI is located on Rubaga Hill, opposite Rubaga Hospital in Kampala, Uganda. Founded by the Grail Community—an international movement of lay women committed to service in the spirit of the Gospel—the institute focuses on transformational education, with particular emphasis on empowering youth and women. Over the years, UCMTI has become a leading center for training in management, social development, tourism, agriculture, and other professional disciplines, blending virtues with practical skills to prepare graduates for meaningful careers.
UCMTI offers a wide range of diploma and certificate programs in both development-oriented and business-focused disciplines. Development programs include Social Development, Ecological Organic Agriculture, Fashion, Design & Interior Decoration, Hotel, Institutional Catering & Tourism, Guidance & Counseling, Social Work & Social Administration, Gender & Development Studies, Adult Education & Community Development, Food Science & Nutrition, Recreation & Events Management, and Travel, Tourism & Hospitality.
The Business and Management programs include Business Administration & Management, Accountancy, Office Administration & Secretarial Studies, Project Planning & Management, Purchasing & Supplies Management, Human Resource Management, Records & Information Management, Marketing & Sales Management, Oil & Petroleum Management, and Information Technology.
