Curriculum: Uganda National Examinations Board Curriculum (UNEB)

Uganda Technical College – Kichwamba (UTC–KI) is a public tertiary institution located in Kabarole District, 14 km along the Fort Portal–Bundibugyo highway. Established in 1947 as an Artisan Training Centre for resettled World War II veterans, the institution has evolved over the decades into a leading technical college, providing high-quality education and training in engineering and ICT disciplines.

 

 

Uganda Technical College – Kichwamba Academics

UTC–KI offers programs leading to the award of National and Higher Diplomas in Engineering and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The college emphasizes practical, hands-on training combined with theoretical knowledge to ensure that graduates are equipped with the technical skills and problem-solving capabilities required in the workforce. Programs are aligned with national standards and the requirements of the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports.

The institution has a rich history, transitioning from an Artisan Training Centre to a Technical Institute in 1971, and later to a Technical College in 1983. Its mission is to produce highly skilled technical and ICT professionals who contribute to Uganda’s socio-economic development while promoting innovation, discipline, and excellence.
