The main campus is in Nkozi, a small town, approximately 84 kilometres, by road, west of Kampala, the capital and largest city in Uganda, on the Kampala-Masaka Highway.
Uganda Martyrs University boosts of eight campuses around the country.
International students are guaranteed a place in the university’s hostels. There are thirteen halls of residence at the main campus, organized for single sex. Affordable hostel accommodation is available for students in the outlying campuses and is supervised by the branch administration.
Uganda Martyrs University | UMU consists of seven faculties, one institute, four centers, five departments and two schools. Total student enrollment is in excess of 4,600. About 1,200 students are residential, while nearly 3,700 students are enrolled in UMU’s distance learning programs.
As of October 2010, Uganda Martyrs University maintains campuses at the following locations: Main Campus: At Nkozi, about 84 kilometres southwest of Kampala, on the highway between Kampala and Masaka. Lubaga Campus: at Lubaga, in Lubaga Division, within the city limits of Kampala. Nsambya Campus: on the grounds of St. Francis Hospital Nsambya, on Nsambya Hill, in Makindye Division, in southern Kampala. Kabale Campus: In the southwestern Ugandan town of Kabale. Moyo Campus: in the town of Moyo, in Northern Uganda. Mbale Campus: in Mbale, in Eastern Uganda, at the foothills of Mount Elgon. Soroti Campus: In the town of Soroti, in Eastern Uganda. Mbarara Campus: In the city of Mbarara, in Western Uganda, approximately 295 kilometres by road, west of Kampala. Lira Campus: In Lira, in Northern Uganda, approximately 270 kilometres by road, north of Kampala. Kisubi Campus: At Kisubi, Wakiso District.
Programmes offered within these departments include: undergraduate, a full range of post-graduate programmes, masters and PhD
The Archbishop Kiwanuka Library is located on the main campus, at Nkozi. The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department is the local provider of ICT services at UMU. All students and staff have access to Internet and email services. The ICT Department collaborates with the academic faculties and Departments of the university to ensure that the students are adequately computer literate.
