Kenya Highlands University’s roots date back to 1932 when missionaries from the World Gospel Mission established a school to train their converts in both biblical studies and teacher training. Originally starting as Sotik Bible School in 1944, the institution moved to its current location in 1953.
It evolved into Kenya Highlands Bible College in 1962, offering secondary-level training and later a Bachelor of Religion in Biblical Studies in 1971. Registered by the Commission for Higher Education in 1989, the institution received its university charter in 2011, officially becoming Kenya Highlands University.
Vision and Core Values
The university’s vision is to achieve a transformed society through Christian professionals. Its core values, which guide decision-making and daily operations, include biblical authority, holiness, excellence, integrity, and teamwork.
