Mount Kenya University’s journey began as a computer outreach program in 1996, evolving into a commercial college by 2000, and later being recognized by the Ministry of Education. With the introduction of paramedical, IT, and business programs, MKU became the first private institution in Kenya to train Pharmaceutical Technologists in 2005. In 2011, the university was granted a full charter, expanding its programs and footprint across the region.
MKU is ISO 9001:2015 certified and a member of the Inter-University Council for East Africa, African Association of Universities, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The university has established over 50 partnerships with global institutions, ensuring its students are exposed to international learning and research opportunities.
