About

Curriculum:

Uganda Bible Institute (UBI) Mbarara is a twelve-acre campus located in Southwest Uganda, on the northeast side of Mbarara at Nyamityobora. In 2008, UBI was granted a license to operate as a tertiary institution by the National Council for Higher Education. The institute offers programs at Certificate and Diploma levels in Theology, with flexible learning options including full-time, recess, and in-service programs.

Uganda Bible Institute Mbarara Academics

UBI Mbarara focuses on theological education aimed at equipping church leaders with the knowledge and skills required for effective ministry. Its academic programs emphasize biblical studies, ministry leadership, and discipleship, preparing graduates to serve both their congregations and the wider Christian community.

Uganda Bible Institute Mbarara Facilities

The institute provides room and board for all resident students and has a three-storey classrooms and library building. Additional facilities include staff duplexes, a 400-capacity dining hall and kitchen, dormitories, administration and faculty offices, and staff houses. These facilities ensure a supportive environment for both academic and spiritual growth.

Uganda Bible Institute Mbarara History

UBI was established to address the gap between church planting and pastoral training in Uganda. As evangelism expanded, many church leaders lacked formal theological training, leaving congregations ill-equipped to address contemporary challenges. The Church of Uganda recognized the need for a dedicated institution to equip leaders with biblical knowledge and practical skills. Rev. Canon Johnson Twinomujuni, a Ugandan ordained minister and graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary, serves as the principal, guiding the institute in fulfilling this mission.

Goals

UBI’s goals include equipping church leaders with biblical knowledge and ministry skills, providing residential facilities for students and conferences, developing a library that supports theologically conservative scholarship, producing theological and discipleship materials, collaborating with existing theological programs, and connecting with overseas churches, organizations, and higher institutions.

Core Values

The institute is guided by five core values: Love, Worth, Accountability, Discipline, and Truth. These values underpin both academic and spiritual training, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to lead with integrity and faithfulness.

Mission & Vision
