Asinge Primary School is dedicated to improving access to education in the local community while fostering holistic development. Despite its growth and success, the school continues to seek support to address key challenges, including a shortage of reading materials for older students and limited safe spaces for quiet study.
Asinge Primary School offers a comprehensive primary education designed to equip children with literacy, numeracy, and life skills. The school emphasizes practical learning and encourages students to engage actively in their studies. While younger children currently have better access to reading materials, efforts are underway to ensure that all students, including those in upper classes, are adequately challenged and supported in their learning.
Asinge Primary School, located in Kumi, Eastern Uganda, was founded in 2002 by parents from the surrounding community. The school was established in response to the lack of nearby educational facilities, as the closest government school was over five kilometers away. The founding parents demonstrated remarkable commitment by contributing financially to the school’s establishment and successfully lobbying a local NGO to construct four classrooms and a headteacher’s office. Over the years, the school has expanded with an additional block of three classrooms and a borehole, the result of a partnership with Build Africa, providing safe and clean water for drinking and handwashing.
