Entebbe Early Learning School

About

Curriculum: Uganda National Examinations Board Curriculum (UNEB)

Entebbe Early Learning School is a Christian-founded institution registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports in Uganda. Established in 1993 by Mrs. Agnes Biryahwaho, the school was founded out of compassion for orphaned and underprivileged children who could not afford basic education. Over the years, it has grown into a reputable center for early childhood and primary education, offering a nurturing and value-based learning environment.

Guided by its mission “to educate and groom children who will change the future of this nation through love, and who will excel in all areas of their lives,” Entebbe Early Learning School provides quality education that builds both character and competence. The school emphasizes moral integrity, discipline, self-confidence, and spiritual growth, shaping learners who can thrive academically and socially.

Entebbe Early Learning School Academics

The school offers a comprehensive academic program approved by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports, covering Nursery to Primary Seven. The curriculum is designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity, moral development, and creativity among learners. Core subjects include Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies for upper primary students, while the lower primary section follows the Thematic Curriculum to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

Entebbe Early Learning School is divided into two main sections: the Pre-Primary Section, which comprises Baby Class, Middle Class, and Upper Class; and the Primary Section, which includes classes from P1 to P7. Each class maintains a small teacher-to-pupil ratio — not exceeding 30 pupils — ensuring personalized attention and effective learning support. Teachers regularly update their methods to align with the latest national education standards, integrating creativity and hands-on learning in daily lessons.

Entebbe Early Learning School Co-curricular

Beyond the classroom, Entebbe Early Learning School is deeply committed to developing the talents, confidence, and teamwork of its pupils through a wide range of co-curricular activities. The school offers engaging sports programs such as football, netball, swimming, and athletics, which help students maintain physical fitness and discipline.

Learners also participate in Girl Guides, Debate Club, Wildlife and Environment Conservation groups, and writing competitions that sharpen their communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. These activities not only enrich the students’ school experience but also foster a sense of community, responsibility, and creativity, preparing them for balanced growth in all areas of life.

Entebbe Early Learning School Facilities

Entebbe Early Learning School provides a safe, well-organized, and interactive learning environment that supports both academic and practical skill development. The school encourages students to learn vital life skills through hands-on experience. Programs such as Tailoring teach learners how to use sewing machines and create useful items like necklaces, arm bangles, and crafts from recycled materials — which are sold at the Love and Care Craft Shop in Entebbe.

The school also offers practical lessons in animal keeping, where students care for goats, cows, and chickens. Through these activities, learners develop responsibility, business sense, and environmental awareness. They gain firsthand experience in production, distribution, and basic financial management by selling products such as eggs and milk to local markets.

These initiatives give pupils lifelong skills that can become income-generating opportunities in the future. Combined with a strong spiritual and academic foundation, the facilities at Entebbe Early Learning School ensure that learners grow into resourceful, independent, and compassionate members of society.

Entebbe Early Learning School History

Founded in 1993 by Mrs. Agnes Biryahwaho, Entebbe Early Learning School was established to provide education to orphans and children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Entebbe and surrounding communities. Deeply rooted in Christian values, the school has grown under the umbrella of Love and Care for the Child Ministries, a charitable initiative dedicated to supporting financially incapacitated children so they can access quality education.

Over the years, the school has become a beacon of hope for many children who might otherwise be denied the opportunity to learn. The school’s objective is to bring up children with a firm educational and moral foundation, instilling confidence, self-discipline, and self-respect. It focuses on the holistic development of every pupil — intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually — while nurturing each child’s natural abilities in a safe and loving environment.

The school’s work has been supported by generous contributions from Christian partners and well-wishers worldwide who share in its vision of breaking the cycle of poverty through education. This collective effort continues to transform lives and build a generation of empowered, compassionate, and skilled young citizens.
