Primary 5–7 features English, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Religious Education, Physical Education, Luganda, Music, Dance and Drama, and Art and Craft, with extended timetables from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM for day scholars and up to 9:00 PM for boarders, including evening and night preps. Kyankowe Primary School Co-curricular
At Kyankowe, co-curricular activities are vital for awakening young minds and promoting holistic growth. Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD) events, along with indoor games, foster creativity and teamwork. Evening preps from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and night preps from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM for boarders complement the schedule, while debates and quizzes build confidence and critical thinking. Kyankowe Primary School Facilities
Kyankowe boasts well-maintained facilities designed for optimal learning and living. Five permanent buildings accommodate all classes from Primary 1 to 7, the nursery section, head teacher’s office, library, and bursar’s office. Two dormitories—one for boys and one for girls—provide comfortable boarding accommodations. Six teachers’ residential units, including homes for the head teacher and deputy head teachers, ensure all staff reside on-site for immediate support. The campus supports daily routines with timetabled preps and co-curricular spaces, creating a secure and conducive environment for holistic student development.
Kyankowe Primary School History
Established in 1930 by the visionary Gyangenda Sulemani, Kyankowe Day and Boarding Primary School began as a community initiative and was later taken over by the government. Today, under the patronage of Prince Mulondo Besweri, the founder’s son, it stands as a testament to enduring commitment to education. From its early days, the school has evolved into a Grade 1 institution, serving as a model for the Universal Primary Education Program. With five permanent buildings housing classes from Primary 1 to 7, a nursery section, administrative offices, library, and bursar’s office, plus two dormitories (one for boys and one for girls), Kyankowe has grown to support a thriving student community while maintaining its founding principles of accessibility and excellence.
