Curriculum:

Kithoma PEAS High School is one of two secondary schools in the Kasese district that opened in February 2012, funded by the Costa Foundation. It is set high in the Rwenzori Mountains in the West of Uganda.

The sub county is very deprived and the Kithoma High School was the first secondary school in Buhuhira Sub County to serve the eight local primary schools. The area has a very young population and the hilly terrain makes it difficult for students to travel long distances to far away schools, making the PEAS school at Kithoma vitally important. There is a very positive attitude towards education among local people who believe that education will enable them to make the most of the natural resources in the area.The District Education Officer was particularly keen for PEAS to build a school in Kithoma as it would fulfil the District Council Resolution requiring all sub counties to have a secondary school.

[related_posts]School Director Tom Bwambale and Headteacher Wilson Musungu lead 10 teaching staff and seven non-teaching staff to provide 10 ‘O’ level subject. The school also has an arable income generating project growing maize.
