The school delivers a fully integrated curriculum that balances secular education with Islamic theology. Students follow the Uganda National Curriculum, studying subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, while simultaneously engaging in Islamic studies, including Holy Qur’an, Arabic, Fiqh, and Tarbiyah. Tawhiid Islamic School prepares its students to sit for both the Uganda National Examination Board’s Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and the Islamic PLE administered by the Uganda Quranic Schools Association. Tawhiid Islamic School History
Founded by the Tawhiid Islamic Association, the school initially started as a Madrasa program in 1990 to serve Somali refugees in the Kisenyi locality. By 1994, it was officially registered with the Ministry of Sports and Education as a fully-fledged school. Tawhiid Islamic Nursery & Primary School strives to cultivate an environment that promotes both academic and moral excellence. Its mission is to provide children with a well-balanced education, combining secular knowledge with Islamic values, so they can fulfill their duties as Muslims and make meaningful contributions to their communities and to Uganda. The school’s guiding principle is that “Education is Light,” emphasizing both intellectual and ethical development.
