Curriculum:

Our Lady Of Good Counsel Senior Secondary School a is catholic founded school. Our Lady Of Good Counsel was founded way back in 1958 when two Junior day schools namely; St Andrews for Boys and St Benadette for girls were started. In 1967 when Junior Secondary Education was abolished, the two Schools were merged and converted into a secondary school which was named after the Patron Saint of Gayaza Parish; Our Lady of Good Counsel S.S.S Gayaza.

Academics: Our Lady Of Good Counsel school has both O’level and A’level. The A’level section was introduced in 2000 with pioneers doing ARTS. Sciences were introduced later in 2003. As students are taught they are equally examined to keep them active in their revision work and to access their level of understanding to work covered. Students especially candidate classes attend many subject seminars and workshops both inside and outside school. The rest of the school is involved in such seminars for clubs, subjects and associations. The participants are always facilitated with transport.

Academic Clubs: Computer Club, Art Club, Servers Club, French Club, Debate Club, Young farmers, Home Economics club.

School Clubs: Patriotism, Drama Club, Musicians Club, Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, Pro life movement, Legion of Mary, Xaverian movement, Scouts, Red cross, Girl Guides, wildlife, YCS, Youth Alive club, Alpha, Teen STAR.

Health: At Our Lady Of Good Counsel, we thank God for the medical team which work intelligently and ably to keep us all going. A medical examination of all students is done at the school on termly basis. Those with ailments which need routine treatment submit their medication to the school nurses.

Co-curricular: As a means of enforcing good health and discipline, all students are encouraged to participate in one or two activities wither in games, MDD, sports or club.
