Curriculum: Uganda National Examinations Board Curriculum (UNEB)

Bweyale School of Nursing and Midwifery is a private health training institution for tertiary learning in Kiryandongo District (Uganda). It offers quality education in nursing and midwifery.

The School’s aim is to provide training and learning opportunities to people that will apply the scientific, health and technological knowledge and skills in order to reduce mortality and morbidity in their communities and the nation at large.

Bweyale School of Nursing and Midwifery Academics

The school currently offers two core programs tailored to strengthen Uganda’s healthcare system:

  • Certificate in Nursing – This program equips students with essential knowledge and clinical skills to provide quality nursing care. Learners are trained to assess, plan, and implement patient-centered care across various health conditions.

  • Certificate in Midwifery – This program prepares students to support maternal and child health, with emphasis on safe deliveries, prenatal and postnatal care, and comprehensive reproductive healthcare. Graduates are empowered to play a key role in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.

Both programs combine classroom learning, laboratory practice, and extensive clinical placements in accredited health facilities to ensure holistic training.

Bweyale School of Nursing and Midwifery History

Bweyale School of Nursing and Midwifery, located in the rural town of Bweyale in Kiryandongo district in mid-western Uganda, about 220 km from the capital Kampala, opened its doors in November 2015 with the first intake of students for courses in Certificate in Nursing and Certificate in Midwifery.

Vision: To become an excellent training and learning center delivering quality graduates who are committed to learning, service, innovations and development in health sciences and health related technology.

Mission: To supplement Government efforts in providing quality healthcare education to students who will after graduating render their services and promote application of their skills and knowledge to the healthcare system, resulting in reduction of death and ill-health in their communities and Uganda at large. This will ultimately enhance the productivity, growth and development of the entire nation.
