Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences (JIHS) is a private, multi-disciplinary health training institute established in 2010. Located in Barlwala, just 2 km along the Lira-Soroti road, JIHS is dedicated to producing competent and skilled health workers through hands-on training and mentorship. The institute emphasizes a holistic approach to health education, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience in a well-equipped learning environment.

JIHS is organized into two main schools: the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Clinical Officers, offering both diploma and certificate programs. The School of Nursing and Midwifery provides programs such as Diploma in General Nursing, Diploma in Midwifery, Certificate in General Nursing, Certificate in Midwifery, and extension courses in Midwifery and General Nursing.

The School of Clinical Officers, licensed by the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB No. 077), offers programs including Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Diploma in Pharmacy, Diploma in Medical Records, Certificate in Dispensary, and Certificate in Medical Records. Both schools emphasize hands-on training to produce competent and skilled health workers.
