Add School Suggest Edits Claim School Email usSweet Home Kyamudikya is a sister school of Sweet Home Day Care and Nursery school and was started in 2012 by David and Merianne as a second school in a small village called Kyamudikya. The children of this village didn’t have any education and the people there are very poor. Around 50 children have free education now.
History: The pastor of Kyamudikya invited David and Merianne, because he thought they could do something for his village. They found a small [related_posts]place with very poor people, no running water or electricity and many children. While they didn’t have any money, David and Merianne decided they had to do something for these people and they started to build a school.
One man in the village lent a piece of land and with the help of volunteers and people of Kyamudikya they made a temporary building of bamboo and papyrus in just one day. One of the overseas volunteers trained three teachers to teach the young children. On the 17th of September 2012, the school was partially complete and the children could go to school for the first time in their life.
Mission: Sweet Home Kyamudikya started with the mission to nurture the whole child in areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual developments.
