The school was created to support Bwera Primary Teachers’ College, which had been founded a year earlier in 1982, providing a primary school environment for teacher training and practical activities. It is a government-aided school offering education from Nursery through Primary 7, with 897 pupils enrolled. The school is staffed by 20 teachers and operates in 17 classrooms, of which 13 are still incomplete.
While the school receives government funding, it faces challenges such as intermittent release of grants and limited infrastructure. Bwera Demonstration School aims to improve its learning environment, including upgrading its classrooms and adding Internet capabilities to the curriculum to enhance students’ educational experience.
