Hibiscus High School opened in February 2011 with over 300 students. It is part of the PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) network and funded by the Costa Foundation. The school is located in Ntungamo District, a deprived area with 364 primary schools but only 7.6% of eligible children transitioning to secondary school. Around 20% of children in the district are orphans, highlighting the urgent need for accessible secondary education.
