Kawanda Secondary School Academics

Kawanda Secondary School prepares students for both the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE). For the UCE, learners study seven core subjects including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography, alongside three optional subjects chosen from Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Accounts, Islamic or Christian Religious Studies, Art and Design, ICT, Arabic, Swahili, English Literature, or Political Education.

At the UACE level, students pursue a two-year course prior to university admission, selecting at least four subjects from a broad range of Arts and Sciences, including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Entrepreneurship, History, Art, Geography, and Religious Studies. The academic program is designed to prepare students for higher education while fostering critical thinking, practical skills, and intellectual growth.
