Bwesumbu PEAS High School is located in the heart of the Rwenzori Mountains, in a mountainous and picturesque area of Bwesumbu Sub-County. The local population primarily relies on coffee farming, with additional crops such as cassava, beans, and bananas grown on the fertile land. The sub-county has a very young population and one of the highest birth rates in East Africa, averaging seven children per adult female, and suffers from high levels of deprivation.
