Royal College, Makindye, opened its doors on 9th February 2004 with an initial cohort of 74 students, including 28 from neighboring countries. The college is a private, mixed day and boarding school offering both Ordinary and Advanced levels. At Senior 1 and 2, students study 14 compulsory subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, History, Biology, and Geography. Senior 3 and 4 students take 7 compulsory subjects and choose 3 optional subjects from Christian Religious Education, Literature in English, Commerce, Home Economics, French, Fine Art, and Technical Drawing.
At A’ level (Senior 5 and 6), students can select from Science subjects—Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology—or Arts subjects—History, Divinity, Economics, Literature—along with additional options such as Foods and Nutrition, Fine Art, French, General Paper, and Technical Drawing. The curriculum emphasizes practical application and prepares students for national and international examinations.
